About Nicole

Hello! I’m your Stow Municipal Clerk of Courts, Nicole Kowalski.

I have lived in Hudson since 2014, and have been a Summity County resident since 2006. I spent some of my childhood in Macedonia and graduated from Nordonia High School in 2009 (GO KNIGHTS!). Following graduation, I attended Kent State University for undergrad and the University of Akron for my Master’s degree.

I was honored to be appointed Clerk of Courts in January of 2026. Before becoming Clerk, I served for five years as an at-large City Council member for the city of Hudson. I first won election to City Council in November of 2020, filling a partial unexpired term, and was re-elected for a full four-year term in 2021.

Before becoming Clerk, I owned my own business for about eight years where I did communications, project management, and marketing for clients across a variety of sectors, and I also taught at a local community college for three years.

In my free time, I am active in the community and enjoy volunteering for various causes and organizations. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading books, and cooking.

Growing up, my parents taught me that being of service to others is one of the best things you can do to make your community better. I watched them volunteer their time and efforts on countless occasions. They made it clear to me through their actions that if something needs to be done, you can’t wait for others to do it. It all starts with you.

Why is this important? Because local issues do not divide along party lines and are not partisan – especially matters related to public safety and our justice system. I believe deeply in a justice system that protects rights, ensures fairness, and treats every person with dignity. I want to continue to make our court more accessible, more efficient, and more equitable. Serving as Clerk of Courts allows me to make a real, tangible difference for the people of Summit County because I understand how the work we do in the Clerk’s office plays a crucial part in ensuring that fairness and justice are achieved.
